Climos year:

1) sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_clim_c040926.nc 

This climo was computed over the years: 1982-2001

2) sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_clim_pi_c101028.nc

This climo was computed over the years: 1870-1899

About the difference between sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_clim_c040926.nc
and sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_clim_c040926a.nc.

I lloked at the files. They are basically identical except the
sst_HadOIBl_bc_0.9x1.25_clim_c040926a.nc has the attribute
"calendar". for the variable "time":

        double time(time) ;

                time:units = "days since 0000-01-01 00:00:00" ;

                time:calendar = "365_day" ;
